Le Savon is a poem by Francis Ponge. This edition is an artist's book in the form of an accordion. The continuity is important here because this poem talks about the cycle of soap : from the soap beginning to foam between our hands to the point it gets wash out by the water. The visual and the poem transform an anecdotal scene of everyday life to a poetical and fantastical experience.
All the illustrations is made from a combination of liquid soap, blue ink and water. Bubbles are blown out from the mixture then pressed against the paper. For the text, it was hand drawn (since it was in the period of Covid-19) and it plays with the rhythm of the poem.
