In this thesis I wanted to explore an animation technique called Drawn-on film animation. I am a fan of film photography so I wanted to analyse how film can be a support to creating animations. Although it's a limited tool, animators during the 20th century demonstrated that film can create an infinite of possibilities for experimental animation. The small frame helps and restricts the animator to create imperfect but dynamic animations. It was also interesting to analyse how film is a "living" object with chemicals that can react randomly to different tools. As a result, animators played with the unexpected to produce their frames. All these researches got me ideas of experimentations for my Master's Degree final project.
